The President of the Philippines, His Excellency Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has provided the necessary boost for the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) with the signing of Executive Order (EO) 75 that primarily moves to strengthen the role of CITEM in optimizing promotion efforts for the country’s export capabilities.

Signed on November 22, 2024, EO 75 entails realigning organizational elements within CITEM, including the creation of a new board composition and the directive to all agencies, bureaus, offices, and instrumentalities to render full support and assistance to CITEM, thus ensuring the effective implementation of said EO.

This executive move has been fully welcomed by CITEM as it is a significant and timely step towards synchronizing and solidifying the government’s export promotion efforts, simultaneously addressing the duplication of functions and direct competition of  agencies in government in the area of export promotion.

CITEM Executive Director Leah Pulido Ocampo believes “the synchronized efforts will lead to optimization of government resources and more importantly, branding and messaging efforts for the country shall be consistent, protected and preserved.”
